Sodium diuranate is a chemical compound of sodium, uranium and oxygen. It also occurs as hexahydrate Na2U2O7 · 6 H2O. Also known is Natriumuranat with the empirical formula Na2UO4 ( CAS: 13510-99-1 ). Together with diuranate it arises in the production of yellowcake.
Use
Sodium diuranate is used as:
- Intermediate in the separation of uranium from uranium solution ( with the addition of sodium hydroxide drops off).
- Dye for glasses (uranium glass) and enamels.
