SODRE

The Servicio Oficial de Difusión, Radiotelevisión y Espectáculos ( Sodré ) is a company incorporated in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1929, Uruguayan state broadcasting company.

The Sodré sends radio and television programs. In addition, the Sodré has a symphony orchestra, a chamber music ensemble, a choir and a ballet.

The position of the President of Sodré occupied in 2012 Buttazzoni Fernando, director of the ballet dancer Julio Bocca is the former. Two maintained by Sodré museums include the Museo de la Palabra and the Museo nacional de Imagen.

From 1931 until a fire in 1971, the concert hall of the station was a central cultural institution in Uruguay.

It is housed at the Complejo del sodre since 1989.
