Sofiko Chiaureli

Sopiko Chiaureli (Georgian სოფიკო ჭიაურელი; born May 21, 1937 in Tbilisi, † March 2, 2008 ibid ) was a Georgian actress.

Life

Sopiko Chiaureli was the daughter of the director Mikheil Chiaureli and actress Weriko Anjaparidze and studied from 1955 to 1960 at the Moscow Film WGIK. Then they took appointments at the Moscow Jermoljew Theatre and then at the Marjanishvili Theatre in Tbilisi. Her film debut was in 1957 during her studies with the lead role in Revaz Chkheidze film Whenever day (Russian Nasch dvor ). It developed into one of the busiest actresses of the Georgian SSR. Awards

In 1965 she was awarded at the International Film Festival of Locarno for Best Actress. In 1976 she was honored as " People's Artist of Georgia " in 1979 as a " People's Artist of Armenia ". 1966, 1972 and 1974 she received on the Allunionsfilmfestival the best actress award. In 1980 she was awarded the State Prize of the USSR.
