In contrast to the classic biometrics, the soft biometric features are classifiable in human compliant and established categories that were traditionally the distinction of individuals.

Formation

The beginnings of soft biometrics Alphonse Bertillon presented when he developed a human identification system that was based on biometric, morphological and anthropometric characteristics in the 19th century. This system included features such as the color of eyes, hair, beard and skin; the shape and size of the head; but also the body size or weight and, further, birthmarks, scars or tattoos. Furthermore, the detection and evaluation of the characteristics is effort and time efficiency and requires no learning phase ( enrollment). Finally, they are human Compliant, so you can do a search using human descriptions initiate.
