Soft-paste porcelain

Soft-paste porcelain is at a low ( "soft" ) temperature - up to 1350 ° C - fired porcelain.

Soft-paste porcelain is made from 25-40 % kaolin, 45 % quartz and 30 % feldspar and is in contrast to hard porcelain sensitive to temperature fluctuations and much shock sensitive.

The soft porcelains include not only the traditional Asian porcelain the traditional pâte of the Sèvres porcelain factory on the Chinese model, Wedgwood Jasperware and bone china.
