Solomon Robert Dresser

Solomon Robert Dresser ( born 1 February 1842 in Litchfield, Hillsdale County, Michigan; † January 21, 1911 in Bradford, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1903 and 1907 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Solomon Dresser attended the common schools and the Hillsdale College. Until 1865 he worked in agriculture. Then he made himself as the inventor of equipment for the oil and gas production a name. Since 1872 he lived in Pennsylvania, where he worked in the oil and gas industry. He was founder and president of the company S.R. He joined Dresser Manufacturing Co. Politically, the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1902 Dresser in the 21st electoral district of Pennsylvania was in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Summers Melville Jack on March 4, 1903. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1907 two legislative sessions. In 1906 he gave up another candidacy. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Dresser took his previous activities on again. He died on January 21, 1911 in Bradford, where he was also buried.
