Son Seong-cheol

Son Seong- cheol ( Kor. 손성철; born 14 February 1987) is a South Korean diver. It starts in the art of jumping from the 1- m and 3- m- board and in the 3 -meter synchronized diving.

Son played his first international championship at the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne, where he had to retire from the 3 -meter board in single and with Ha Seung -hun in synchronized competition in each case after the preliminaries. The following year he competed in his first Olympic Games in Beijing, ranked there by the 3 -meter board but only the 29th and last place. Things went better for Son at the 2009 World Championships in Rome. From the 1 -meter board and in the 3 -meter synchronized diving, he retired again after the preliminaries, managed by the 3 -meter board, however, the first time the semi-finals, where he finished 16th. His biggest sporting success achieved Son at the Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou. He won his first international medal in 3 -meter synchronized diving with Park Ji- ho with bronze. In the individual events he could convince the 1 -meter board in fourth from the 3 -meter board and sixth.

At the World Cup 2012 in London Son missed direct qualification for the Olympic Games in 2012.
