Sonic Mayhem

Sascha " Buzzfunk " Dikiciyan, aka Sonic Mayhem and toksin, (born 1970 in Stuttgart ) is a German composer and musician. As such, he composes mainly soundtracks in computer games.

Biography

Born in Stuttgart and raised in Berlin, Dikiciyian came already during his childhood a lot of classical music in touch. He learned to play piano as a child, but then switched to drums at age twelve. However, for the studies he could not make friends with the traditional classically styled courses of European music conservatories located. Therefore, in 1993 he moved from Berlin to Los Angeles, to deal in the course of music study at the Musicians Institute ( Hollywood) on the key issues keyboard, music theory and recording techniques. He then studied at the Herb Alpert School of Music at the UCLA Film composition and orchestration. Inspired by the first computer games specially established ommer accompanying music, especially Quake, Dikiciyan 1996 wrote his first music production Methods of Destruction, which he sold in the self-publishing. He applied for Quake manufacturer id Software as a composer of the successor title, Quake II and eventually won the contract, which he took over from Trent Reznor. Since then he has worked as a composer mainly under his pseudonym Sonic Mayhem alone and in collaborations with other musicians as a composer of numerous computer game productions. Stylistic feature of Dikiciyans work is the fusion of orchestral sounds with electronic music.

2005 Dikiciyan came in search of a supporter for a separate project with the American game composers Cris Velasco into contact. Since then, both work together on virtually all projects. Under the pseudonym " toksin " Dikiciyan also publishes its own music and remixes with influences from the fields of industrial rock, breakbeat and drum and bass. His home and work is Los Angeles.
