The company was founded in 1999 and has become known primarily for its ultra- rugged devices. The units are supplied with standards such as IP 68 (dust and waterproof case ) and the MIL -STD -810 (English Test Method Standard - Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests ) advertised. Sonim also manufactures the mobile phones of Land Rover.
