Soomaaliyeey toosoo
Somaliyaay toosoo (also Somaaliyey toosa to German Somalia, awake ) was 2000-2012, the national anthem of Somalia.
Somaliyaay toosoo was in Somalia since the 1940s, a popular folk song. According to the government solamischen the song by Ali Mire Awale is from the year 1947. Another source indicates, however, that some years before, emerged from his collaboration with Yusuf Haji Adari.
The song was sung a long time to commemorate the independence, especially by school classes classes begin. Finally, from 2000, it replaced officially the text and untitled hymn by Giuseppe Blanc ( 1886-1969 ), which had been in use since independence on 1 July 1960.
With the new Constitution as the Federal Republic of Somalia Somaliyaay toosoo was replaced in August 2012 by Qolobaa Calankeed as a new national anthem.
