Soompi

Soompi is one of the largest and oldest English-language Web sites that provide information about Korean pop culture, especially K- pop and dramas. Soompi was decisive in regard to the English content of the Korean wave. So fans have joined forces in the Soompi forum to create for example subtitle for Korean drama series. Soompi is also the precursor of many autonomous fan forums to K- pop groups. Meanwhile Soompi receives much support from the large, Korean talent agencies such as JYP, SM or YG Entertainment for example, various Fanspecials.

Soompi was founded in 1998 by Korean-American developer Susan Kang. The site reached more and more visitors quickly. In February 2011, Soompi has been adopted by the Korean IT companies Enswers. In 2011, moreover, a French -language platform of the website was created in 2012 a Spanish-language.
