Sorachi Subprefecture
Sorachi (Japanese空 知 総 合 振兴 局, Sorachi- sogo - Shinko - kyoku ) is a sub-prefecture of Hokkaido Prefecture. It has an area of 6558.26 km ² and a population of 373 736 (as of July 31, 2004).
History
The sub-prefecture Sorachi (空 知 支 庁, Sorachi- shicho ) was established in 1897.
Today's big city and the county Furano Sorachi with Kamifurano, Nakafurano and Minamifurano - - 1899 the village Furano was the sub-prefecture Kamikawa slammed.
In the reorganization of Hokkaidō April 1, 2010 it was renamed in Sorachi- sogo - Shinko - kyoku. The community Horokanai the sub-prefecture Kamikawa was slammed.
