Sort (Lleida)
Sort is the capital of the Pallars Sobirà in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, Spain.
Geography
Sort lies 692 meters above sea level at the river Noguera Pallaresa, a tributary of the Segre. Its population is 2274 (as of 1 January 2013).

Since Spring means luck in Catalan, the place attracts a large number of tourists from all over Spain who want to buy there tickets for the annual Christmas lottery for yourself and friends. Indeed, there is an above average number winners among the lots sold in Sort. There five times lots were sold within ten years for the main prize, most recently in 2004. However this depends rather with the exceptionally high sales numbers together there.
Museum
The museum " El Cami de la llibertat " (The Way of Freedom), housed in an old prison, has been dedicated to July 2007, the memory of the hundreds of people who came in their flight from the Nazis during the Second World War by Sort.
Events
In 2010, the canoe white water world championship was held in Sort.
