Sosigenes (crater)

Sosigenes is an impact crater on the Moon's front page on the western edge of the Sea of Tranquility. It is located northwest of the crater Arago and south-west of Maclear. He is bowl-shaped with a flat crater floor and hardly eroded.
To the east of the crater there is a running in the predominantly north-south system of lunar grooves Rimae Sosigenes.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astronomer Sosigenes from Alexandria.
