Sosigenes is an impact crater on the Moon's front page on the western edge of the Sea of ​​Tranquility. It is located northwest of the crater Arago and south-west of Maclear. He is bowl-shaped with a flat crater floor and hardly eroded.

To the east of the crater there is a running in the predominantly north-south system of lunar grooves Rimae Sosigenes.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astronomer Sosigenes from Alexandria.
