Sositheus

Sositheos ( Σωσίθεος ) was a Greek tragic poet of the first half of the 3rd century BC Its origin is not known exactly (Syracuse, Athens or Alexandria Troas ). He belonged to the Pleias and was rival of Homer of Byzantium.

Sositheos considered as the restorer of the satyr play. From his dramas only scant fragments have been preserved. The most famous tell the story of the shepherd Daphnis and King Lityerses.
