Souleymane Coulibaly

Souleymane Coulibaly ( born December 26, 1994) is an Ivorian football player who is under contract with the Italian second division side U.S. Grosseto FC.

Career

2009 Coulibaly drew from the war-torn Ivory Coast to Italy and followed his father, who married a local woman there. The then 14- year-old played a little later before at a regional youth tournament in Arezzo, where he was discovered by scouts of AC Siena. The club took him despite doubts outsider immediately under contract - and can boast with the discovery of a jewel. Coulibaly get into the Campionato Allievi Nazionali, the national U-16 Championship, 13 goals in 17 games. His coach at the time Colonello described him as " one of the best in Italy ."

In July 2011, Coulibaly was transferred for a sum equivalent to about 1.75 million euros to the English first division club Tottenham Hotspur. Since 1/2013 Coulibaly plays in the Italian second division side U.S. Grosseto FC.

National team career

In the U-17 World Cup 2011 in Mexico Coulibaly excited by outstanding performances worldwide attention: he met nine times in four games. In particular, his hat-trick against Brazil had several top clubs are aware of the young Ivorians. He has been associated with, among others, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Trivia

He is often compared to his compatriot Didier Drogba, many experts see him as his successor. However, the two are completely different types of players: Drogba lives more of his physique and his heading ability, while the smaller Coulibaly is a fast technician. Therefore Coulibaly not referred to Drogba, but the Hanoverian Didier Ya Konan as his role model.

At press conferences, he often uses the opportunity to draw attention to the injustices in his country and to appeal to those responsible for a peaceful solution.
