Soungalo Ouattara

Soungalo Apollinaire Ouattara ( born December 31, 1956 in Bobo-Dioulasso, Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso) is a politician from the West African nation of Burkina Faso. He is the current President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso and is owned by the ruling CDP on.

Prior to his election Ouattara held various public offices. He succeeds Roch Marc Kaboré, who presided over the Parliament during two terms. Ouattara was elected after the parliamentary elections in 2012 at the inaugural session of the National Assembly of 28 December 2012, 96 out of 127 possible votes as President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso. His inferior challenger Denis Nikiema of the UPC reached 30 votes, all from the camp of the opposition.

Ouattara is married and father of two children.
