South African Badminton Championships

The South American Championships in badminton are the national championships of the Republic of South Africa in this sport. They are held since 1948. First, they found every two years instead, starting in 1953 and thereafter annually. Until the 1980s, the championships were open - that is, it could compete in the championships and foreign players. So there are also German ( Irmgard Latz, Marie Luise Wackerow ), Danish, Dutch and English in particular athletes in the winners' lists. For selected teams of the South African provinces of Melvill Cup will be held.
