South Plaza Island

Plaza Sur is one of the Galápagos Islands. The approximately 0.2 km ² island is located off the east coast of Santa Cruz and is populated by sea lions, marine iguanas, land iguanas and many bird species. Together with the opposite Plaza Norte it forms the projecting above sea level edge of the crater of a volcano. The caldera forms practically a dock for tour boats. On the island there is a circular route. In addition to the island of Opuntia ground-covering plants of the genus has been inhabited Sesuvium which color in the dry season, deep red.
