South Tower (Brussels)

The Tour du Midi ( Dutch: Zuidertoren, German: in the south tower ) in Brussels is the tallest building in Belgium and is located near the South Station. The building has a height of 150 meters and has 41 floors, three of which are underground. The floors are accessible by eleven lifts. The tower was built from 1962 to 1967 and was only in 1972 exceeded at that time the tallest building in the European Community (now European Union), and has been through the Montparnasse Tower in Paris.

From 1995 to 1996 extensive renovations to the glass facade of the building took place.
