Souther–Hillman–Furay Band

The Souther -Hillman - Furay band was called a supergroup, consisting of singer- songwriters Richie Furay the ( Buffalo Springfield, Poco ), Chris Hillman ( The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas ) and JD Souther.

The band was founded in 1973 at the instigation of the influential music manager David Geffen. Hillman brought three other members of his previous band Manassas in with the group, pianist Paul Harris, percussionist Joe Lala and guitarist Al Perkins. As a drummer was obliged Jim Gordon ( Derek and the Dominos ).

It was published in the musical style of country-rock total of two albums. 1974 the band had with Fallin ' in Love, a hit single in the U.S. charts, which climbed up to rank 27. Also named after the band's debut album achieved good sales figures. As with many other supergroups, it soon tensions between the individual members. Gordon left after the first record release, the band and was replaced by Ron Grinel. When the second album Trouble in Paradise 1975 was actually good despite poor sales figures accepted by the critics, the group disbanded and the musicians used back to their solo careers to.
