Southern Provinces

With southern Morocco in general, including ( in 1160, founded by Berbers ) former capital of Marrakech and mostly inhabited by Berbers areas south ( and east ), the southern part of Morocco, called it. The most important harbor of the south is Agadir.

Was Historically 1912-1956 with southern Morocco also referred to the whole of the French protectorate of Morocco, in contrast to the smaller Spanish protectorate in the country's north, which was referred to as Northern Morocco.

Today, the Moroccan government called the 1976 and 1979 annexed Western Sahara Republic as southern Morocco. Großmarokkanische nationalists include Mauritania to the south of Morocco, at least historically.
