Spallanzani (lunar crater)

Spallanzani is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, east of the crater Barocius and south of Nicolai. The rim is irregularly shaped and moderately eroded the crater interior is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian polymath Lazzaro Spallanzani.
