Spanish Flea is a pop song composed by Julius Wechter in the 1960s and later provided with text by his wife Cissy Wechter. The song as an instrumental version by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass with Herb Alpert on trumpet, which has appeared on the record label he co-founded A & M Records in late 1965 became known.
Origin and use
Julius Wechter had written for Spanish Flea Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass and also played himself Marimbas on the song. In 1971 Wechter with his " Baja Marimba Band " also has its own version of the song, which is also published on his LP As Time Goes By at A & M.
