Spastic Ink

Spastic Ink is an American progressive metal band and is often referred to as a math-rock band.

History

In 1993, the Watchtower guitarist Ron Jarzombek Spastic Ink His brother Bobby Jarzombek and Pete Perez (then both members at Riot ) finally completed the line-up.

On their first album Ink Complete by 1997 the band played purely instrumental math-rock, a subspecies of Progressive Metal, which is characterized by complex time signatures and changing, dissonant melodies and high speed. The song A Wild Hare follows the story from Disney's Bambi and accompanied them musically. Striking are the imitated from the guitar voices. The re-release of 2000 were added 25 minutes of bonus material.

On the second album from 2004 Compatible Ink many guest musicians can be heard. Among the guest musicians include bassist Michael Manring ( Michael Hedges, Attention Deficit ), Sean Malone ( Gordian Knot, Cynic ), Ray Riendeau ( Halford, Machines Of Loving Grace) and Doug Keyser ( Watchtower ), the drummer Jeff Eber ( Dysrhythmia ) and Dave Penna ( Static, Planet Hate ), the keyboardist Jens Johansson ( Stratovarius, Yngwie Malmsteen ), David Bagsby (Xen, Patrick Moraz ) and Jimmy Pitts ( Scholomance, The Fractured dimension ) and singer Daniel Gildenlow ( Pain of Salvation ) and Jason McMaster ( Watchtower ). Due to the many guest musicians, a slight change in style took place, so the songs are no longer exclusively, among other instrumental pieces.
