Spiff and Hercules

Pif the dog ( Pif le chien ) is a comic book character by José Cabrero Arnal, which was first published in the French newspaper L' Humanité in 1948. The figure should denounce the injustices of his time, hunger or shortage of homes. He had the character of its predecessor Top, who came from the same author and was identified as PIFs father .. He is a fictional anthropomorphic dog in shape and has as antagonists, the cat Hercules. The adventures of Pif the dog appeared in a monthly comic magazine Pif Gadget. Publication history

Pif appears for the first time on 28 March 1948 in black and white in the newspaper L' Humanité, then in the 'L'Humanité Dimanche and debuted in 1952 captivant in color in comics magazine Vaillant le journal le plus. The newspaper changed its name in 1965 Vaillant le journal de Pif Pif Gadget and in 1969. During the late 1960s, Arnal left the series with other artists, among which the most famous Louis Cance, François Dimberton, Michel Motti, François Corteggiani, Giorgio Cavazzano and especially Roger Mas (pseudonym Roger Masmonteils ) were the most important was his successor.

Pif the dog lives in a working class family, which consists of the workers Tonton ( Caesar ), his wife Tata ( Agathe ) and the child of the house, Doudou. Pif and Doudou fall into great danger by the brutal Tonton who fears nothing in the world except the collector and his tyrannical woman to become depressed. Hercules

PIFs antagonist Hercules appeared in 1950, two years after his "friend ," the dog. Hercules is a black and white, others fretting cantankerous cat, sticking a plaster on the nose and has a smile on hungry lips. His role in the comics is that he tries to catch Pif.
