Spilostethus pandurus is a bug from the family of the chinch bug ( Lygaeidae ).

Features

The bugs are from 12 to 14.5 millimeters long. She is strikingly marked with black-red pronotum ( pronotum ), black labels ( scutellum ) and a black bow tie on the Hemielytren. When males are covered with thorns leg ( femur) and rails ( tibia). The type reaches a body length of 13-15 millimeters.

Distribution and habitat

The species is widespread and paläotropisch comes from Africa, Asia, and Australia before. In the Palaearctic region it is widespread in southern Europe and the entire Mediterranean region and is occasionally introduced in Central Europe, where they but up to now is not down to earth.

Way of life
