Spingarn Medal
The Spingarn Medal ( German: Spingarn Medal) is awarded annually by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ( NAACP ) for outstanding achievements of an African American. The award consists of a gold medal and was created in 1914 by Joel Elias Spingarn ( 1875-1939 ), Chairman of the Executive Board of the NAACP, was launched.
