Spiral Tribe

Spiral Tribe is an international sound system, which is one of the protagonists of the Freetekno and the rave movement.

Spiral Tribe entered for a nationwide audience for the first time in the early 1990s through the organization of several days or weeks of unexpected Tekno - Events ( teknivals ) in appearance. Most of the loose union activists from England, were added activists from France, Austria, Germany and Italy. Spiral Tribe has always acted independently and in the underground. After an unannounced Festival in Castlemorton (England) in May 1992 with 30,000 visitors, 23 activists were arrested. Through the subsequent lengthy process, the group became known to a wide public.

The following were initially many events in mainland Europe, especially in Berlin and Paris instead, but due to legal problems were rare events in Germany and the always semi-legal event operations moved to Prague or to various places in France. The group also acted no longer closed, but a variety of cells distributed across Europe and internationally coined the term Teknival for subcultural techno events.

One of the principles of Spiral Tribe heard the anonymity of the members of the collective. Numerous records were released under the common name of hospital Tribe or SP 23 on the group's own label Network 23, whose respective author remained anonymous and have become one of the most sought after techno - rarities. The French label Expressillon published since 2005 under the label name Network Repress pressings.
