SPX ( NYSE: SPW ) is an American industrial group based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

SPX was founded in 1912 in Muskegon, Michigan, in the automobile industry under the name of Piston Ring Company. The name was changed in 1931 Sealed Power Corporation, and finally in 1988 in SPX. Since 1972 the company has been publicly traded.
