Spyglass, Inc.
The Spyglass, Inc. ( Nasdaq: SPYG ) was a U.S. company for Internet software in Champaign (Illinois ). The company was founded in 1990 as an offshoot of the University of Illinois at Urbana -Champaign to market developments of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications ( NCSA ).
The most famous product was Mosaic, the first web browser.
In 2000, Spyglass was acquired by OpenTV in the context of an exchange of shares for 2.5 billion.
