Sreng

Sreng mac Sengainn is a warrior of the Firbolg in Celtic mythology of Ireland.

Mythology

In a recent story about the landing of the Tuatha de Danaan in Ireland, the Firbolg Sreng was sent to oppose the invaders. He is described as a strong warrior, so that the Tuatha turn him Bres (not to be confused with Bress, see below), their most powerful warriors, contrary presented. Both came together and joined in spite of all hostilities friendship. After the first battle of Mag Tuired (presumably Cong in County Mayo ) offered him Nuada as a peace offering to to choose a part of Ireland and live there with the Firbolg. Sreng chose Connacht.

Sreng it was he who suggested the hand in this first battle Nuada from. He allowed Bress to ascend the throne of the Tuatha de Danaan.
