St Mary of the Angels (Wellington)

St Mary of the Angels is a Roman Catholic church on the corner of Boulcott Street and Willis Street in Wellington, New Zealand. It is the parish church of the parish in the suburb of Wellington Central.

The current building was opened in 1922 and is the third church that stands at this point. It was designed by Frederick de Jersey Clere in 1919 in Neo-Gothic style, after the wooden predecessor had been badly damaged by a fire in 1918. For the first time came for a neo-Gothic building of reinforced concrete as a building material for use .. The building consists of reinforced concrete and brick, and has a wooden roof, which is supported by concrete arches which are stabilized with steel tie rods.
