The Stade Pierre- Aliker is a sports stadium in Fort- de -France, Martinique. The stadium holds 16,300 spectators and is the largest sports facility in the French Antilles. It is mainly used for football matches and athletics competitions.

Name

First, the stadium was named the hamlet of Fort-de -France, in which it is located. On 9 February 2007, it was renamed " Stade Municipal Pierre- Aliker ". It was named after Pierre Lamentin Aliker, a 1907 -born former mayor of Fort-de -France Martinique and Delegate to the National Assembly.

Use

Usually occur football teams to Martinique in this stadium. The National and the Colonial Club use the space most often. At the opening in 1993 and 2005, the French national football team of women joined the French national football team of men in 2011 here.

There were several political and cultural events at the Stade Pierre- Aliker. These included concerts by Kassav ' and Lionel Richie and the " Grand Méchant Zouk " at the 40th Cultural Festival of Fort-de -France.
