Stadion Rankhof
The stadium is a sports stadium in Rankhof Hirzbrunnenquartier in Basel. It was until 1995, rebuilt in 1993. The grandstand opens south to the pitch. The north side is fully glazed as a windbreak. The windows are framed by black steel profiles and are broken up by vertical stripes. The capacity is about 7,600 spectators. Of these, 1,000 seats and 6,600 standing places. The stadium record from previous years ( before the conversion ) is about 30,000 spectators. The playing surface is natural grass and is 100 x 64 meters in size, with floodlights. The sub- space is the same size and also equipped with floodlights. In Rankhofareal it still has four training fields, a field of artificial grass 90 x 45 meters with floodlights, a triple gymnasium and six tennis courts.
Rankhof is the home stadium of FC Basel North Star. By the end of the season 2008/09 Rankhof was also the longtime home of FC Concordia Basel. New the second team of FC Basel will use the stadium.
