On 13 July 1999, the Municipal Transport Company Bern ( SVB ) were entered in the Commercial Register of the Canton of Berne as an independent company. For the spin-off from the city administration, the form of urban public institution was chosen. It is based on the regulations of the institution SVB from 09/28/1997. At the beginning of 2000, the SCC was the business name Bernmobil and a new logo, combined with a new color scheme with the dominant colors Red ( similar RGB R210 G0 B55 ) and anthracite (similar RGB R57 G57 B57 ). Bernmobil paid a rent for the use of property and infrastructure, and is also responsible for the maintenance. Bernmobil took over the entire rolling stock and the corresponding operating facilities, including the resources of the workshop and the furniture of the administration. The employees lost their civil servant status. After expiry of the relevant transitional periods they are now subject to public- sector employees.
