Stahlwille

The Eduard Wille GmbH & Co. KG, short STEEL WILL, is a company with headquarters in the district of Wuppertal Cronenberg. The company specializes in the production of hand tools.

History

1862, Eduard Wille, the company at the age of 25 years to 150 m² as a drop forge. In 1899 it was taken over by his sons Emil and Eduard.

1901, the company produced 150 articles already groups. These included special tools for engineering, shipbuilding, repair, locksmith, blacksmith, wagon construction and all of the metal and machinery industries.

1914, 500 employees and 25 trainees. The export share of about 80 percent.

In 1938, took over the grandson of the founder, and Edward Waldemar will, and the company employed 400 people. After 1955, the product line had grown to about 3,000 items.

Mid-1990s, the company was taken over SWM in Steinbach- Hallenberg in Thuringia. 2001, came to take over the company's United Becker's tool factories, short VBW, a manufacturer of pipe and installation tools from Remscheid with 170 employees. Finally, in 2002 the company was taken alarm tools from Remscheid, also a manufacturer of Pipe and installation tools.

Current situation

The company now has over 600 employees, is family owned and run by a family- independent management. This is controlled by an advisory board.

The production takes place in Thuringia in Wuppertal, Remscheid and Steinbach- Hallenberg. The products are exported to more than 60 percent to over 90 countries. For this STAHLWILLE has in countries such as France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Hungary and Poland through its own sales companies.

Product

The product range today comprises approximately 10,000 items. Here, Stahlwille has focused on the manufacture of wrenches, socket wrenches, drive tools such as ratchets, extensions and universal joints as well as torque wrenches, pipe cutters, bolt cutters and pliers. Also special tools for the aviation and aerospace industry, the wind power industry and the automotive industry are part of the range of Stahlwille group.

Employees and Training

At the Wuppertal more than 350 people are employed in production and administration and about 20 trainees trained in various professions. The industrial trainees is a separate training workshop available.

Production

The philosophy of STAHLWILLE include comprehensive value added in-house. Which is thought to have a direct influence on all of the quality characteristics of the products. For production next to the drop-forging its own tool include machining (milling, drilling, broaching and grinding). The products are manufactured in a largely automatic on modern production lines.
