Stane Dolanc

Stane Dolanc ( born November 16, 1925 in Hrastnik, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes; † 12 December 1999) was a Yugoslav politician.

Life

Stane Dolanc joined in 1944 the Yugoslav People's Liberation Army and studied after the end of World War II jurisprudence at the University of Ljubljana, then political science at several universities abroad. From 1960 to 1969 he was director of the School of Political Sciences in Ljubljana, where he also worked as a professor.

From 1969 he was a member of the Presidium of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia. From 1982 to 1984 he was Minister of the Interior of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, after which he was a representative of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia within the Yugoslav state presidency. In 1989, he retired into private life. He was considered an enemy of both liberal and nationalist aspirations.
