Stanislav Levý

Stanislav Levý ( born 2 May 1958 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player and current coach.

Playing career

In his youth, Stanislav Levý played for SK Úžice and Meteor Prague. His military service, he completed 1977/78 at RH Volary and 1978/79 with which he ascended at RH Cheb, in the first Czechoslovak league.

From 1979 to 1988 played for FC Bohemians Prague Levý, with whom he was in 1982 Czech Cup Winners' Cup and 1983 Czechoslovak champion. As a 25 -fold Czechoslovak international joined Levý 1988 in the second German Bundesliga Blue-White 90 Berlin for which he played 125 games second division, and was promoted there quickly became a crowd favorite.

After the bankruptcy of the club he played for Tennis Borussia Berlin, where he was able to add in the season 1993/94 a further 20 second division inserts his career.

Coaching career

In the season 98/99 he took over this team as interim coach Hermann Gerland of extremely successful and then moved later in favor of Winfried Schäfer back into second place. Later Levý followed his former coach at Blue-White Berlin, Horst Ehrmantraut, as an assistant coach to Hannover 96 and 1 FC Saarbrücken, where he was interim coach after each Ehrmantrauts dismissal.

In 2004 he returned to the Czech Republic and took over Viktoria Zizkov in the second division. After only six years, he was released. Then Levý worked as sports director at Chmel Blšany. In the summer of 2005, he became coach of the 1 FC Slovácka, despite a successful season he had to go in May 2006. In October 2006 he replaced Michal Bilek, who moved to Sparta Prague, as a coach at Viktoria Plzen.

In November 2008 Levý took over the team of FC Tescoma Zlín. Already in mid-December he was made redundant again.

In October 2011 Levý became the new coach of the Albanian first division side KF Skënderbeu Korçë. Despite the achieved championship in the summer of 2012, he left the club.

In early September 2012, he signed a one year contract with the Polish first division club Slask Wroclaw with the option of a further year. On February 25, 2014 he was released after eight games without a win in a row.
