Stanisław Stec

Stanisław Stec ( born March 22, 1941 in Jazowsko ) is a Polish politician, since 1993 Member of the Sejm in the II, III. , IV and VI. Legislature and a former Secretary of the Treasury.

He finished his law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Until 1999 he was a member of Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ( Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP ), after which he resigned ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD) in the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej one.

Until the mid-90s, he was director of a cooperative agricultural production. In the parliamentary elections in 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005, he won on the list of SLD elected to the Sejm. He was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance from October 2001 to 21 November 2005.

In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he was with 10,908 votes on the list of Lewica i Demokraci - selected ( Left and Democrats LiD ) for the constituency of Pila again in the Sejm. He is sitting in the Sejm committees for agriculture and public finances.

Since 22 April 2008 he is a member of the newly formed group Lewica.

In May 1998 he was made an honorary citizen of Grodzisk Wielkopolski.
