Star One C2

Star One C2 is a geostationary communications satellite of the Brazilian satellite communications company Star One, a subsidiary of Embratel and Bolivarsat.

History

Star One C2 was launched on 18 April 2008 at 00:17 UTC together with the satellite VINASAT 1 by an Ariane 5 ECA in a geosynchronous orbit and positioned at 70 degrees West.

Star One C2 was built by Thales Alenia Space and is based on the three -axis stabilized Spacebus 3000 B3 platform. His weight at the start was approximately 4100 kg.

The identical first satellite of this type ( Star One C1) was also launched on 14 October 2007 by an Ariane 5 with Skynet 5B and brought 65.0 ° West to a position.
