Stationary bicycle

As a Home Trainer is referred to a fitness machine for home use in the home or in holiday resorts.

This may be meant as a jogging wheel or a treadmill ( cross trainer ). With some exercise bikes are only or mainly certain trained muscle groups ( eg backs coach ). Other examples of home exercise equipment are rowing machines and elliptical trainers. A ' Training Station ' (also ' power station ' or fitness tower called ) allows for numerous exercises for different muscle groups. They can be tools for strength training, endurance training or body building. The training can also be done on the advice of a sports medicine and for the prevention, treatment or rehabilitation.

Many home trainers have ergometer, which means they have measuring devices and sometimes recording devices, for example, for the pulse and the energy released or power (= energy per unit time). Thus, parameters for individual physical performance can be read (see also Performance Diagnostics ).

Some exercise bikes are for space- saving storage collapsible. They are sold in supermarkets, sports shops, as promotional items at discount stores, the Internet or via teleshopping.
