Stefan Böger

Stefan Boeger ( born June 1, 1966 in Erfurt ) is a former German football player and coach.

Stations as a player

Stefan Boeger learned to play football at BSG Erfurt Forming and began his career with FC Carl Zeiss Jena, where he played in the DDR - Oberliga from 1984 to 1991. He came to 110 league games, scoring five goals. He also ran six times in European competition. In 1991, Boeger to F. C. Hansa Rostock, who qualified as the last East German champion for the 1st Bundesliga. Boeger played one season for the Hanseatic League came on 34 Bundesliga appearances and scored two goals. In season at Hansa Boeger came to two other international missions. In the first round of the European Cup of Champions, he stood at two games against the Spanish champions FC Barcelona each full season on the court. He resigned from Hansa after a 0-3 away defeat and a 1-0 home win in the competition.

After the decline of the Hanseatic League to Boeger joined the second division MSV Duisburg, with whom he managed to return to the Bundesliga. After three years at MSV Stefan Boeger moved in 1995 to the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Fortuna Köln and a year later to FC Gütersloh. In 1997 he was taken from Hamburger SV under contract and played two more years in the league before he trailed off his career with the second team of the HSV.

During his time in Jena denied Stefan Boeger four matches (all 1990) for the national football team of the GDR. Among other things, he stood on September 11, 1990 in Brussels at the last international match of the German Democratic Republic (2-0 against Belgium ) on the court. For the Olympic team of the GDR, he completed seven games.

2002 Stefan Boeger coach of the second team of Hamburger SV, before he moved to the second representation of Hansa Rostock for the season 2003/ 04. From there, his path in the summer of 2004 led to the regional league team VfB Luebeck, where Stefan Boeger spent two years and successful coach in succession only failed twice just outside the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Despite current contract Boeger was suspended after the failed ascent attempt in May 2006 by his club. Boeger received in Kiel for this task initially a contract for the seasons 2006/ 07 and 2007 /08. On 26 February 2007 Boeger was delivered by Holstein Kiel from its activities.

Since July 2008, Stefan Boeger belongs to the DFB coaching staff. First, he took over the U-16 Junior National Team as a responsible coach. In May 2010, the DFB extended to him his contract as coach of the German U- 17 team. Since 2013 he is responsible for the U-16 Junior again. His expiring in the summer of 2014 contract was not renewed by the DFB.
