Stefan Minkwitz

Stefan Minkwitz ( born June 1, 1968 in Magdeburg ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Sports career

Stefan Minkwitz began playing football at the BSG Traktor in Niederndodeleben, joined as a junior player 1 FC Magdeburg and then played from 1976 to 1981 with beading Rottmersleben. At age 13, he returned to 1.FC Magdeburg. In league team of the FCM it was first used on November 7, 1987, after the 1.72 m wide midfielder could quickly develop into a regular player. Until 1992 Minkwitz completed for the FCM 110 point games and eleven domestic cup games. He came to a total of 16 goals. His three UEFA Cup games for Magdeburg, he played in the 1990/91 season in the 1st and 2nd round against the Finnish team Rovaniemi PS (0, 0, 1-0) and in the first leg against Girondins Bordeaux (0:1 ).

1990 Minkwitz was used in two games of the East German national team ( March 28 1990 DDR USA 3-2 and April 11, 1990 DDR - Egypt 2-0).

In 1992, Minkwitz in the 2nd Bundesliga MSV Duisburg. A year later, he played with the Stuttgarter Kickers, 1994 at Fortuna Dusseldorf. With the Fortuna managed Minkwitz 1995 promotion to the Bundesliga, but moved in 1996 back to the Stuttgarter Kickers. There Minkwitz played until 2004 (from 2001 Regionalliga Süd ), where he ended his active career. Until June 2007, Minkwitz acted with the Swabians as an assistant coach. For the season 2007/ 08 he took over as coach of A- Juniors, who played in the U -19 league.

On November 4, 2007, he was promoted to head coach after the current coach Peter Zeidler was suspended by a sporting ride with immediate effect. Minkwitz managed with the Kickers qualifying for the new 3rd Liga. After the seventh match of the following season he was suspended on 21 September 2008 after six defeats in seven games. As part of its Instructor Training Minkwitz completed as of January 2010 an internship at SSV Reutlingen and took over on 15 April 2010 the role as head coach after the current head coach Roland Seitz was changed to Eintracht Trier. After just one game - a 0-3 defeat at home against SC Freiburg II - gave Minkwitz from the responsibility of a quartet consisting of the players Andreas Rill, Jens hardener, Manuel huntsman and Tobias lens.

From May 2010 until end of November 2011 Minkwitz was coach of the district division club SV Hoffeld.

Private

Stefan Minkwitz is a trained mechanical system installer. But since he can no longer use the knowledge from the GDR, he began in 2010 retraining as a sports and fitness merchant. Minkwitz since 2007 soccer coach with A License ( for trainer tasks in the higher amateur level and in the regional ). He lives in Leonberg.
