Stefano Boeri

Stefano Boeri ( born 1956 in Milan ) is an Italian architect and author.

Biography

Boeri studied architecture in Milan and graduated in 1989 with a doctoral degree. In 2000, Boeri, the research network Multiplicity for the investigation of urban settlement structure. The group produced the work shown at Documenta 11 Solid Sea, the Boeri gave a reputation as a political artist in the globalization-critical art world. This reputation prevented Boeri not to act as architect for the planned by Silvio Berlusconi G8 summit in La Maddalena. The end of 2003 he established at the tip of the Italian architecture magazine Domus and changed as chief editor of the magazine the character much.

Boeri now lives and works in Milan. Besides his work as editor in chief, he writes articles for the free business magazine Il Sole 24 Ore. Boeri is co-owner of the renowned architectural firms Boeri Studio and teaches as a professor at the universities of Milan ( Politecnico di Milano ), Genoa and Venice.

Bosco Verticale

The project is scheduled for completion in 2014 and includes two landscaped high-rise buildings in Milan. On the outer sides of both 80 m and 112 m high residential building thousands of trees, shrubs and hedges to be planted, which will correspond to the total area of one hectare.
