Steffi Scherzer

Steffi Scherzer (* July 14, 1957 in Stollberg ) is a German ballet dancer ( ballerina ) and lecturer at the Dance Academy Zurich.

She was trained at the National Ballet School in Berlin, followed by exposure to the Deutsche Staatsoper. In 1984 she was appointed prima ballerina and danced the leading roles in all the major classical and neoclassical ballets. She received a bronze medal in Varna, the Special Prize in Osaka, art and critics awards. Tours abroad in the world followed, and cooperation with major choreographers such as Patrice Bart, Maurice Béjart, William Forsythe, Pierre Lacotte, Rudolf Nureyev, Roland Petit and Uwe Scholz.
