Steinach (Nürtingen)

The Steinach is a right tributary of the Neckar in Nürtingen in the middle of Baden-Württemberg.

Course

The Steinach arises in the Neuffener Talspinne at the foot of the Swabian Alb Hohenneuffen and from the confluence of three source streams that mündungsfernste source is the turn of Bach in about 495 m. It runs constantly to the north, only through Neuffener valley with the villages Neuffen, Linsenhofen - there flows from the right Beuren Bach - Frickenhausen - there flows from the left of the Krummbach - and then empties itself in Nürtingen to nearly 13 km, from said source from expected, at an altitude of approximately 273 m from the right into the Neckar.

Environment

  • Between Neuffen and Frickenhausen Linsenhofen the Steinach forms the waterfall Great casting, is regarded as a natural monument.
  • The area where the Steinach in the Neckar is still close to nature despite the city location.
