The University Stendhal Grenoble III (French: Université Stendhal de Grenoble III) is a university in Grenoble, France.

History

The Stendhal University was founded in 1970 on the basis of a product placed by the then Education Minister Edgar Faure on the way law as State University and built the campus in Saint -Martin- d'Hères in the department of Isère. Predecessor institutions can be traced back to the year 1339.

Main training areas are foreign languages ​​, old and new literature, linguistics and journalism. The focus is in teacher training. Recently, students are also trained for a career in cultural or communications area or in journalism. Every year more than 1000 students prepared for the specific requirements of a study for France under various exchange programs through the CUEF ( University Center for French Studies).

Currently, Patrick Chézaud President of the University, in semester 1996/1997 studied about 7400 students at the University.
