Steninge Palace

Steninge Castle, located about 30 km north of Stockholm at Märsta in the Swedish province Uppland, is a small castle in the Italian -influenced Baroque style.

The two-storey castle with four -storey wings of wood was built in 1694-1698 to designs by the architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. It has influences of the Italian Baroque, as it manifests itself in the villas of Andrea Palladio, and is unique in the Swedish Baroque architecture. The castle formed with the garden an architectural unit, among other things, by terraces, stairways, pavilions was created. From the original garden is only small remnants are preserved.

The castle is privately owned and is a listed building.
