Stephanotis
The Stephanotis ( Greek " wreath " or "crown - ear" ) is a genus in the subfamily of the milkweed family ( Asclepiadoideae ) within the family of the dogbane family ( Apocynaceae ). Known representative is the ring sling ( Stephanotis floribunda ), a houseplant.
The genus includes about 16 species, some of which are native to mountainous regions of Madagascar, others in the Malay Archipelago.
Description
The stephanotis species are evergreen lianas. The leathery leaves are opposite. The axillary flowers are found in single or two-column cymes.
